The idea for sketch-express was born working as a project engineer for modifications on dredging equipment and later as technical superintendent for the maritime industry. Being on-site it is often needed to make changes or perform repairs to existing equipment. But the necessary drawings are often not available, not updated or only accessible as .pdf. So what you need is a technical drawing for repairs or fabrication of parts of good quality, preferably at once.

With the sketch-express application it is possible to get CAD drawings - including necessary changes - of good quality in no time. Simultaneously you can control the process from the shipyard or workshop and add remarks through notes while the draftsman is preparing your drawing. The only thing you need is a laptop with an internet connection. 

 

REGISTER: Register using the Login button on this page. After registration you will receive an email with login and password information. Click on the link in the mail to start using sketch-express.

UPLOAD: Specify the drawing/project particulars and upload your sketches to the vault. Our draftsmen will check the vault regularly. You will receive an email message when your drawing/project has been accepted. Sketch-express will automatically calculate man hours or price per drawing.

REVISE: After acceptance of the drawing/project you are linked to a draftsman. Communication is easy via notes posted to the application dashboard. Two revision rounds are included.

DOWNLOAD: After all notes (or comments) are "closed" the drawing is completed and ready for download. The draftsman will upload the final version in the requested file format. The drawing is released for download after the Sketch-express Administrator has done a final approval quality check. 

 

The customer (superintendent, engineer, etc.) has to do modifications - flange size and material have changed - to an existing assembly. Like the suction mouth shown in the middle left picture. The customer makes notes on the drawing, prepares a scan and uploads it to sketch-express. After the draftsman has processed the notes he uploads a revision to which - if necessary - more notes can be added via the application. If the customer accepts the drawing it is ready for download in the file format specified by the customer. The end result is shown in the picture left.
